Visit

‌‌‌Visitors can view the farm along the Breakfield Road walking path anytime. Most of the fences at the farm are electrified, but it is safe to pet the goats through the gates.

The University Farm shares up to 400 hours per year with student groups, families, and community members of all ages!

Some of the many volunteer opportunities include:

  • greenhouse work
  • harvesting/washing/packaging
  • planting/weeding
  • garden/high tunnel bed prep
  • garden build outs and fence installation at local schools
  • composting food waste from the University’s dining hall
  • cleaning animal shelters

Volunteering can also help you fill community service hours.

The University Farm is located on the Domain of the University of the South at 225 Breakfield Rd, Sewanee, TN.

Driving west on University Ave. from the Sewanee Inn, take a right onto Texas Ave. Follow Texas Ave. for .3 miles. Turn right onto Breakfield Rd for .2 miles. The Farm Center is on the left.

Parking is available on the gravel lot across from the Farm Center on Crosby Lane. For large groups, please park by the bathrooms near the ball field on Breakfield Road.
